To: Subscribers and Users of GPA Terminal Tariff No. 5
Effective today, the Georgia Ports Authority is issuing a few changes to the above referenced tariff. These changes, which will be effective January 27, 2012, are as follows:
Rule 34-001 APPLICATION OF TARIFF
Added language stating the rule applies to all users of the GPA terminals, unless an exception is made by the Authority. No financial impact.
Rule 34-020 APPLICATION FOR BERTH
Revised language for purposes of clarity. No financial impact.
Rule 34-025 CHARGES FOR EQUIPMENT, LABOR, AND MATERIALS
Revised language for purposes of clarity. No financial impact
Rule 34-290 MISCELLANEOUS SERVICES (Breakbulk)
Increase in rates for taking photographs and facilitating the washing of cargo to a more compensatory level. This is the first of at least two increases to be implemented in connection with the washing facilitation service over the next four to six months.
Rule 34-355 VEHICLES, AIRCRAFT, AND PARTS (Handling Charges)
Removal of “Trailers” from the list of self-propelled commodities such as automobiles, buses, motorcycles, as “Trailers” are covered elsewhere in this rule.
Rule 34-492 CONTAINER TRANSLOADING SERVICES
This is a new rule explaining the container transloading services provided by the Authority, as well as that provided by 3rd parties on Authority facilities.
Rule 34-505 CONTAINER DEFINITIONS
Expanding on the definition of “stack relocation” by adding examples of when this charge is assessed.
Rule 34-511 STEVEDORE VESSEL LOADING ERRORS
Another new rule which covers the rates the Authority will assess to the stevedore, when the wrong container is loaded to a container vessel. The rates are $173.50 per empty container or $204.50 per loaded container.
Rule 34-520 CY SERVICES
A note added to the CY service “Non-Vessel Move Terminal Use.” The note makes reference to the possible charge for a domestic chassis dray in connection with containers moving via rail. This is a charge which is currently being assessed, but not previously directly referenced. Also revised the language for “Relocation (within the terminal “so it is clear that the relocation charges apply not only to containers but also to chassis or married units.
All of these changes will be available for viewing at www.gaports.com no later than January 20, 2012. Subscribers to Tariff No. 5 will receive the revised pages in PDF format prior to the effective date.
If anyone has any questions, please let me know.
Sincerely,
Robert D. Prescott
